GE Aviation brought in $17.5 billion in orders for engines and services at the recent Farnborough Air Show in England, and the company’s plant in Castle Hayne is involved in almost all the business.

“It solidifies our future here,” said plant manager Kevin Prindable.

Hiring will be gradual and amount to about five to 10 people annually for the next four or five years, he said.

the Governor or that inept Secretary of Commerce had been involved in this contract, the article would have been three times as wordy as each would have touted their own efforts.

This is the same Secretary of Commerce who’s been to the Air & Space show in France on several occassions, and with the exception of some heavy expense accounts for he and his entourage, has not brought anything home.

Hopefully, he will be the first member of the Council of State replaced when Governor McCrory is inaugurated.
