BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Belville Commissioners are getting back to agenda items they had planned to discuss at a special meeting last month where the town’s mayor quit.

Jack Batson resigned July 13 bringing a halt to a series of discussions commissioners planned. Now they’ve called another special meeting Saturday to get back to them. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. at Belville Town Hall.

According to a notice from the town, the purpose of the meeting is to conduct an organization work session, among other things. Many of the items are the agenda are carryovers from the July 13 meeting.

The board plans to discuss and possibly amend the town charter, the Belville Board of Commissioners’ Rules of Procedure, the town’s Business Policy and Procedure Manual and its Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual. They will also look at what it would take to make a recall election possible for Belville.
