BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has identified a teen who drowned while swimming yesterday. Investigators say Raquan Green, 15, of Ash died after a swimming accident in the Longwood area.

Emergency crews responded to the call around 5 p.m. Sunday.

After a more than two hour search, divers found the teen’s body in a pond near Hughes-Smith Road and Longwood Road.

Green was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Brunswick High School, where Green was about to start his sophomore year, is offering grief counseling for classmates.
