WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Many of us have used smart phones to take pictures and upload them to social media web sites. One Wilmington woman is going above and beyond by utilizing her iPhone to turn photos into works of art.

Dorian Hill has always loved taking pictures, but says the iPhone has allowed her to take them faster and more conveniently. Her iPhone photos and functional art pieces, like bags and accessories that display the pictures, are sold in Wilmington and several other North Carolina stores.

“Technology is advancing,” Hill says. “The tools are getting smaller and I must say I have met some photographers that are a little perturbed that they have thousands of dollars of equipment and I’ve got an iPhone.”

Hill’s art is currently being featured at Lovey’s Market at 1319 Military Cutoff Road. Her solo exhibit “iPhoneography” will be on display there all month long. Many of her functional art pieces can be found at the downtown Wilmington store Planet, located at 108 North Front Street.
