WHITEVILLE,NC (WWAY) - The Whiteville High School state champion baseball team will receive their 2012 2-A state champion rings at halftime of the Whiteville-West Columbus football game on Friday, August 24. Coach Brett Harwood's squad beat Randleman 2-0 in the best of three championship series. It's the fifth state title for Whiteville in baseball in the history of the school.

Coincidentally, Whiteville is the location of a father-son matchup on Friday. Mark Little is the head coach of West Columbus High School. His son, Luke, is the head coach at Whiteville High School. Click play video in order to get their take on Friday's family affair.

The West Columbus-Whiteville game will be one of the feature games on Friday's 5th Quarter.
