WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With all eyes about to turn to North Carolina and the Democratic National Convention, Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-7th District) will head to Charlotte to take part in the convention.

The North Carolina delegation is the host delegation for this national convention, and they will not miss this opportunity.

“It’s going to be a big boost mainly for North Carolina,” McIntyre said. “I think it’s a great opportunity for us to showcase the Tar Heel State and to show that in North Carolina we are a state that is always on the move, and I think Charlotte is one of the gleaming cites of the South. It will be a great time. They are going to be at some great venues.”

McIntyre thinks President Obama will do well in November.

McIntyre will not address the national assembly of the convention, but he will address the North Carolina delegation. The Congressman will also host a campaign event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Mike McIntyre’s attendance at the DNC shows his true colors for supporting a FAR-LEFT President , who has taken this country down the wrong road. This road we are on , now goes to Europe , where the Socialist experience has not worked out so well. The emotion of Hope and Change has faded and the promise of solid leadership has never materialized. McIntyre should have shown better judgement and distanced himself from Obama. McIntyre feels his office is finally in jeopardy due to the fact he faces a formidable opponent , Rouzer , and will need serious DNC support to fend off Rouzer. McIntyre has always been the poster boy for a career politician , who likes to play the Blue Dog role to ride the fence. He is your typical wealth redistributor by showing up in small towns with cardboard checks with his name on them. Knowing full well it should be the taxpayer’s name on the bottom of those checks. He is enjoys being Santa Claus but his phot-ops have diminished significantly due to the fact public dollars are scarce. The only reason most of the mayors showed support last election was because they wanted to stay in good graces with the career politician. The election is unlike any other in America history because the man that occupies the White House has a vision that was influenced by Communist mentors during his childhood and he has a sincere dislike for American culture and values. This is not your grandparent’s Democratic Party. This is the New American Socialist Party , whose desire is to establish a dependency culture , which gives the government more control over citizens. Go see the movie “2016” to see how Obama’s vision was established.

Mr. Green’s uninformed screed against Congressman McIntyre lacks both dignity and facts. Mr. McIntyre is about as independent as anyone in Congress. He voted against the Wall Street bailout — twice. He voted against Pelosi’s cap and trade bill, voted against Obamacare, was one of the only Democrats to join Republicans in supporting repeal of Obamacare, and voted against all 3 of Obama’s bad trade agreements because he wants to keep jobs here in SE North Carolina.

Conversely, McIntyre voted against the Republican plans to privatize Social Security, and voted against the Ryan budget that David Rouzer embraces which would essentially end Medicare as we know it.

He votes with the NRA all the time, and has earned an A rating from that group. How many Democrats can say that?

And Mike is a consistently pro-life vote.

In short, Mike votes his conscience and his district — regardless of what the Washington people want. He doesn’t listen to Obama, Pelosi, Romney, Boehner or anyone else — but whenever people here at home speak, he listens to us! That is what I want in my Congressman. Mike deserves our support. Because he works for us, and votes his district, not his party!

You sir are 100% correct in everything you have said here, McIntyre is a wolf in sheeps clothing and has done as much or more to contribute to this mass debt and mess this country faces now, he bends and sways with the wind, glad you pointed out about all those checks he used to hand out, you are correct, it may have been what appears to be his signature on them but in truth it is we the TAXPAYER’S signature that should have been on the line, he hasn’t contributed to 1 single solution to any problem since he has been in office, he’s like a little boy just kicking the stone down the road till the next guy steps up!

I for one am glad that Mike McIntyre has always fought to make sure that the money we pay in taxes comes back to our community. We pay enough to the Federal government, South Eastern NC deserves to have someone who works to have that money spent to support our fire departments, law enforcement, military bases, and our beaches. I don’t care about political parties, I just want someone who will fight for us.

no one takes you seriously except other extemists and that puts you in the minority.

Not fond of Obama but I think Mikes’s done a lot for constituents of both parties. Don’t take my word for it, just check his actual track record. As to Rouzer: his whole platform is about how he’s going to stick it to Obama, no details, no nothing, just that he’s going to “do” it. That’s like saying his plan is that he’s going to get a plan. Bla,bla, bla.

While I’m here, I thought I’d bullet-point some of your posting points with some comments.

• “a formidable opponent , Rouzer” (Rouzer, formidable, really?)
• “your typical wealth redistributor” (Your typical hackneyed phrase)
• “because the man that occupies the White House has a vision that was influenced by Communist mentors during his childhood and he has a sincere dislike for American culture” (His communist mentors from childhood? Now that’s just too fruit-loopy to even speculate about)
• “This is the New American Socialist Party” (never heard of them. Do they have a secret handshake?)
• “Go see the movie” (OMG, so I guess you saw a movie that explains it all and from the bullet point about mentors, I’m guessing you just watched a re-run of “The Manchurian Candidate. You do know that was only a movie, don’t you?)

Oh, and one more thing: the mayors of those towns you mentioned supported him BECAUSE HE HELPED THOSE TOWNS. That’s what a congressman is supposed to do. Support his constituents. Duh!

I am glad that Mike McIntyre is fighting to bring our tax dollars back home into our community. Mike has made sure that the money we pay in taxes is invested in our local law enforcement, fire departments, military bases, and beaches.

If Mike really wants to get re-elected he should take a hint from Hillary Clinton and stay as far away from Charlotte and the DNC as he can. I’m sure that he’ll wake up with fleas if he sleeps with the dog!

What Mike McIntyre has done for our area Veterans ALONE qualifies him as a man who looks out for the interests of North Carolina – and that’s all we want or expect from our state leaders. Rouzer is an extreme right-winger who’s only position is “beat Obama,” and who like all current Republicans have a lot of harsh words for the other side, promises to solve all the problems without EVER saying “HOW.” HOW will they solve the problems – that’s truly the question, and so far I haven’t heard a word from any of them that explains exactly how and what they will do to improve things. Go, Mike – you’ve proven yourself to us.

he’s ready for the DNC because he knows it will be his last. Don’t get me wrong I like Mr. McIntyre and have voted for him for years; however, I can not in good conscience to do so again. It is time for him to move from public ‘puppet’ back to the private sector. His services are no longer required, needed, or wanted.
