WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With all eyes about to turn to North Carolina and the Democratic National Convention, Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-7th District) will head to Charlotte to take part in the convention.

The North Carolina delegation is the host delegation for this national convention, and they will not miss this opportunity.

“It’s going to be a big boost mainly for North Carolina,” McIntyre said. “I think it’s a great opportunity for us to showcase the Tar Heel State and to show that in North Carolina we are a state that is always on the move, and I think Charlotte is one of the gleaming cites of the South. It will be a great time. They are going to be at some great venues.”

McIntyre thinks President Obama will do well in November.

McIntyre will not address the national assembly of the convention, but he will address the North Carolina delegation. The Congressman will also host a campaign event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
