NC woman working as trainer facing sex charge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Charlotte say a health care employee contracted to work as an athletic trainer at a local high school is charged with having sex with a student.

The Charlotte Observer reports that 29-year-old was arrested Aug. 31 by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and charged with sexual activity with a student by school personnel. She is free under $10,000 bond.

A spokeswoman for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools says the system contracts with Carolinas Healthcare to provide certified athletic trainers at several high schools. Ilg was a trainer at Vance High School.

The CMS spokeswoman would not say which team the student played for, but said Ilg is no longer at Vance. A spokesman for Carolinas Healthcare Systems says Ilg is on paid administrative leave, pending an outcome of the case.

Interesting ...

This individual was a CONTRACT employee; not an employee of the school. I'd like to see what her contractual agreement states regarding such alleged behavior. Chances are it will be handled much differently in court than if an actual school employee engaged in said conduct.
