HUBERT, NC (WCTI) -- Deputies say a man shot three horses, killing one of them. The other two were later euthanized. Keith Kincy has been arrested and now faces gun and animal cruelty charges.
Investigators say the three horses were shot about four o'clock Friday morning at a home located on Hubert Blvd in Onslow County. One of those horses died at the scene, according to deputies. A veterinarian checked the injuries of the two horses that had initially survived the shooting, but just before 10 a.m. Friday, recommended that they be euthanized.
"It just kills me, because I love animals," said Amber Carter, who works near the home and has seen the horses on many occasions. "Animals deserve a lot of respect, just like people. They need to be treated right. They don't need to be hurt. They don't need to be shot."

Why didn't he do what a man should've done and beat the man like the man beat his child....It don't make sense for him to have shot the horses. That the same crime that the man did was to beat his innocent child so he had to go and kill innocent horses so he's no better... Anyone that will hurt an animal will hurt a child.... Sound like neither one of them was man enough to face the guilty people..... EACH OTHER... Both of them were afraid of the other so the take out their anger on innocent kids and animals.... NEITHER ONE OF THEM WERE REAL MEN!!!!

Okay your right he was in a rage and shot the horses.. went about things the wrong way but he was protecting his. Isn't that what we all do? Protect what is ours..

we'll learn that this was a love triangle/quadrangle gone awry. with the economy the way it is one horse may have wanted all the attention/finances, this is when things get out of hoof. in these types of mass killings he may have disguised himself as Mr. Ed to allow himself to get close enough to shoot them. imagine their horror when they realized it was a shared suitor!
Punishment
So if he shot the horses, why can't he be treated like he treated the horses. Maybe he should be shot just like the one horse that died except he should live and then as punishment for the remaining two horses that had to be euthanized, he should be euthanized. I know it seems cruel to suggest we do to criminals what they have done to their victims but was not their act cruel.If we start doing this to criminals, maybe, just maybe, they might think a second time before they do some of the things they do if they realize that their punishment will be to have the vary same thing done to them.

I agree with you about the punishment and that same type punishment should be meted out to those who lie in wait and shoot deer just for fun or maybe just to hone their shooting skills....deer are living, breathing animals just like horses!!

Stealing or injuring another
Stealing or injuring another person's livestock carries stiff penalties in NC if the law is applied properly, especially when animal cruelty is involved.
