What about this afternoon’s debacle downtown where traffic was backed up from Church St. to the Isabel Holmes bridge? I saw more traffic laws being broken, near accidents, and the thing I didn’t see were ANY Wilmington Police, Highway Patrol, or Sheriffs doing their jobs. After an hour and a half of waiting they finally responded and starting moving traffic. Way to go Cops, way to anticipate that maybe, just maybe there would be traffic and congestion on a Saturday afternoon, right around rush hour, with one of the bridges closed. This about sums up the approach of law enforcement around here. React to a problem, instead of preventing one.
