WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Starting tomorrow you can catch a bus in Wilmington that will take you right to the Amtrak station in Wilson. The next stop is your choice.
Wilson is one of 20 stops between New York and Savannah making up the railroad’s Palmetto Route.
“From an economic development standpoint, having Amtrak have a stop right here in our community puts our community on the map even more, bringing tourists into our community, connecting with the trains either in fayetteville or wilson. It’s a great thing for our community,” New Hanover County Commission Chair Jonathan Barfield said.
The Thru-Way Bus Service will depart Wilmington daily at 9:48 a.m., reaching the Wilson Amtrak station at 1:38 p.m.
The bus will make a run from Wilson at 2:45 p.m. returning to Wilmington at 6:37 p.m.
