BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Attorney general Roy Cooper says North Carolinians turned in approximately 8.5 million doses of old prescription and over-the-counter drugs during Operation Medicine Drop last weekend. That beats the previous record of about 7.77 million doses collected in March.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office led the state with more than a million units.
