WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — This weekend it’s the 4th annual Salty Paws Festival at Carolina Beach Lake Park. Organizers say it’s going to be the best yet.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday people and their pets can challenge themselves in fun contests and try their luck in raffles. It costs just $6 for the whole day, and you may even leave with a new companion.

“It’s unreal how this festival keeps growing and growing and growing, and we will have so many breed specific rescue groups out there this weekend that will have so many animals there that need good homes, and we’re looking forward to it,” founder Jeannie Mintz said.

In addition to searching for a new pet or spending time with your own, there will be vendors, music and more activities for the entire family.
