FORT BRAGG, NC (AP) — Fort Bragg officials will hold a preliminary hearing to determine if there’s enough evidence for an Army general charged with sex crimes to face trial.

The home of the 82nd Airborne Division announced Thursday it will hold the Article 32 hearing for Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair on Nov. 5.

Sinclair was deputy commander in charge of logistics and support for the division’s troops in Afghanistan until he was sent home in May because of the allegations.

Two US defense officials last month told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity that Sinclair has been charged with forcible sodomy, multiple counts of adultery and having inappropriate relationships with several female subordinates.

Sinclair has served five combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
