WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The new Trader Joe’s grocery store on Oleander and College in Wilmington is accepting applications for workers when the store opens next month. Job seekers lined up outside the store today for a chance to apply for the available positions. Most said they decided to apply because they like the culture the store creates.

“When I was reading their information online, plus I’ve been in a Trader Joe’s in Southern California, they are very relational,” said job hopeful Jeter Griffin. “I like their concept and believe in their philosophy.”

Hopefuls say if nothing else, they hope to make good connections with management at the new store and gain practice with interviewing.

an entitlement receiving liberal. You post nonsense in response to a specific item.

Or, you could be Dukie or Terry trying to divert attention from the pending nose dive of the bond referendum.

As to Batts Grille, have never eaten there; don’t intend to; but at least they have sufficient parking which allows all patrons to park.

  • Guest2020 says:

At least up there in Surf City one is able to “move along”. The same cannot be said for those trying to leave the parking lot at Trader Joe’s.

  • SurfCityTom says:

even when the summer renters flock to the island; even when the bridge is closed, traffic of one form or another keeps flowing. The same will not be said at that corner if Trader Joe’s enjoys the same success as it does at other locations.

I waited in line for 2 + hours In hopes of a part time, minimum wage job?? It will be so worth it. I am glad I wore my good shirt the other people looked homeless and off the street. If they do drug tests half those people won’t have a chance.
    Minimum wage Here I come>>>

that not nice to say about other people. You may not get the job miss.part time the one u think might not get the job may get it and not watch what you you say about someone else.

My husband and I have both been working for tj’s for 8 & 7 years now, we both get way beyond minimum wage, if you stay working for the company you’ll be making over $18 an hour like us. And no, tj’s doesn’t drug test people. It’s an amazing company to work for.

We live in Raleigh now, and are moving back to Wilmington in the summer. So excited that Trader Joes will be there. It’s not a hippie store, it has great stuff of all kinds(they have org. veggies/fruits, beer, good frozen items that tastes as good as homemade, fresh flowers, and wines), pretty cheap. It’s a great store. Maybe they’ll end up opening another after people see their great stuff…

  • Lorraine says:

    You pay for it!

  • Beach Bum says:

Great. That is all Wilmington needs. Another hippie grocery store.

    I’d rather have a ballpark.

  • Stay at home Tom says:

Don’t worry about it Tom. Doesn’t concern you. One extra parking space since you won’t be coming into town to take it. That corner looks better now than it has in 12 plus years. It will be busy, we’ll deal with it and enjoy Trader Joes. You can have Batts Grill.
    Now move along…

  • SurfCityTom says:

corners in Wilmington, Oleander & College. How many parking spaces will be present?

Who in their right mind approved that site? That will be a traffic nightmare if this store enjoys half the success of their other locations?

Does anyone in city planning consider these things?
