CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — Police say two people have been found shot to death in a home in Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers were called to the home just before 4 p.m. Thursday. Capt. Greg Collins says a man called and said he had found his parents dead.

Police have not provided details about the deaths.

Police used a dog to search the backyard of the home Thursday night, but did not say what they hoped to find.

Several neighbors said they heard several gunshots from the house Wednesday afternoon.

Officers said the shootings did not appear to be a random act.
