WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) — A former Ashley High School teaching assistant was found not guilty Wednesday of indecent liberties with a student, according to the New Hanover County District Attorney’s Office.

Dishon White, 26, was accused of sending sexually charged text messages and Facebook postings between Nov. 29, 2011, and Feb. 2, 2012, to a 17-year-old girl. It is against school policy for teachers to “friend” students on Facebook.

When White surrendered to police in March, he resigned from Ashley High School where he was also a track coach.
