FIRST ON 3: Pedestrian struck in Downtown Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A pedestrian was hit by a car on Front Street near Market Street in Downtown Wilmington Friday night.

The woman who was struck was walking across the street with a group of women when the driver, a young woman, hit her. The victim was responsive at the scene as emergency crews were communicating with her.

Witnesses say they heard a loud thud that sounded like two cars crashing.

The victim is being transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, her injuries are unknown at this time.

Try driving downtown after 9pm, there may as well be no lights or signals, as the college drunks feel immune to their suggestion. I’ve nearly taken out entire gangs as they stumble past, oblivious to the fact that the right-of-way is mine. I don’t know if this is the case with this incident, but I do know it won’t be the last…
