WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College officially welcomed its new president this morning. School leaders gathered to introduce Dr. Ted Spring as the school’s new leader.

Spring replaces Dr. Eric McKeithan, who retired in June.

Spring has spent 42 years working at community colleges, most recently at New River Community College in West Virginia.

“I think my whole goal for the next few weeks is to really get around to all the campuses and meet all of our staff and talk with our students,” Spring said. “It’s been a great experience for the last five days. I’ve heard so many positive things about the college.”

Dr. Spring says he plans to team up with UNCW leaders and work with local high schools to help ensure high school students are prepared for college.
