COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Columbus County Sheriff’s deputies and State Bureau of Investigation agents say they’ve made the largest crystal meth bust in county history.

Tuesday narcotics detectives seized approximately two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $200,000. The investigation originated in Columbus County and led investigators to Cumberland and Moore Counties, where additional arrests were made.

Johnny Andreas Savva, Jr., 35, of Fayetteville, Samuel Olivares, 18, of Houston, TX, and Felipe Benjume Rodriguez, 36, of Robbins, were each charged with trafficking in methamphetamines.

Bond was set at $500,000 for Savva and Olivares and $200,000 for Rodriguez. All three defendants were scheduled to make their first court appearance today.
