WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — He trails Rep. Mike McIntyre in the vote count, but David Rouzer was in Washington, DC, today for orientation for new members of Congress. The Republican even took part in a class photo of Congressional freshmen.

When asked about Rouzer taking part, his campaign spokeswoman said, “Tomorrow the results of the canvass will be certified, and we will go from there.”

McIntyre leads by just a few hundred votes in the race for the 7th District House race. County Boards of Elections have been counting provisional and absentee ballots this week. All votes must be canvassed tomorrow.

Candidates involved in close, unresolved races are eligible to attend the Congressional training sessions.

Perhaps Rouzer is interviewing to work for as a Republican freshman staff membder. He knows how to make tea, and perhaps he can learn how to make coffee. He also my work as a lobbyist and making new connections.
