Tools to make Christmas gifts taken from NC school

READ MORE:

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Leaders at a Durham school say thieves have stolen several large tools from their vocational building, meaning students will have trouble finishing the Christmas presents they were making for family and friends.

The Herald-Sun of Durham reports (http://bit.ly/10nnrSY ) the thieves broke into the Agape Corner School last weekend. Vocational instructor Clint Jones found the door jimmied open with a crowbar Saturday morning.

Among the items taken were a 6-foot drill press, a tabletop drill press, grinders, band saw and miter box saw. Jones estimates about $2,500 worth of tools were stolen.

Jones said there are just enough tools left to allow students to finish their projects, but only if they take turns using them.

Among the projects the students have made are a doghouse, bookshelves and picnic tables.
