WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — After the Wrightsville Beach Flotilla fireworks end Saturday night (approx. 7:30 p.m.), NCDOT plans to close traffic eastbound onto the beach and allow two lanes of traffic to flow off the beach.

The current plan is to allow traffic to flow off the beach for 15 minutes and then allow traffic to flow onto the beach for 15 minutes.

Drivers heading to and from the beach during the peak period after the fireworks (30 – 60 minutes) may encounter heavy traffic on Eastwood Road, and on Wrightsville Avenue up to Eastwood Road.

Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington Police Departments will monitor the flow of traffic and modify the plan as needed.
