NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Long lines outside the football stadium at Ashley High School are not unusual, but there was no football game Friday afternoon.

Instead, student Gary O’Neill was planning to set a world record for leap frogging. It started as a senior project, and now O’Neill, along with 1,500 students and staff, are world record holders. They beat the old record of 1,348.
