WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Hoggard teacher and coach charged with indecent liberties with a student may have to wait months for the next step in his case.

Michael Supak’s case is headed to a grand jury. A judge said today it may not be heard until as late as March.

Supak is accused of kissing a student on campus in October. He’s suspended with pay while the whole thing is sorted out.

Supak is married with three children, including one who attends Hoggard.

    Only when????????

This should have gone to a grand jury to start with before the arrest. If this alleged act did not happen think of all the havoc that it has caused in many lives. The system that allows for these arrests based on allegations only is very flawed.

When I heard about Supak, I was SHOCKED! Supak was always a cool teacher and a good coach. I just couldn’t believe that he had done something like this. Guess my first impression was wrong. Not trying to be rude, but I am a Hoggard Graduate, C/O ’09! It just seems that Hoggard has been going downhill ever since Dave Spencer left. Its sad… I’ve heard from Various people that there are discipline problems, a girl had a baby in the nurse’s bathroom, and now this. Hoggard needs to get it together. I was once proud to say I’m a Hoggard Alumnus, a Viking for life, but now… eh, not so much. It makes me sad. ):

Considering the touchy-feely society we live in, most any interaction with a child is risky, especially anything involving touching or kissing one. But, kissing in itself does not seem like some sort of indecent liberty. If it is, every parent, day care worker and most friends are guilty of a crime. When I went to school, it was common for a student and teacher to share a harmless hug of quick kiss. Teachers are pretty much an extended family to many students who get very little encouragement at home. What kind of kiss was it? On the cheek or lips? Why did he kiss her/him? So much information is lacking to make an accurate judgment here. Did anyone see it? Is the child’s word all they are going on? Far too many people seem to have been railroaded lately based on so few facts. Seems as though too many are ready to crucify others these days based on a few sketchy details that could have been fabricated to begin with.

The key here would be forcably kissed!
    What an idiot!

When is the Grand Jury happening?? This has drug out long enough. He has been on leave with PAY since November 2012 at the taxpayers expense. This is crap, any other person would have been fired that very second and sent packing without pay.

CAN’T WAIT until they take him down in court.
