WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — ‘Tis the season for giving.

WWAY had a surprise visit today from a New Hanover County pre-kindergarten class, and they came bearing gifts.

They say it’s better to give than to receive. Wednesday students from Pax Natura Academy got a hands-on lesson. They showed up at our door to donate to Toys for Tots.

Their teachers say teaching the children about the spirit of giving is an important lesson that will hopefully stay with them.

“We have been teaching our kids about giving; teaching them about children who do not have as much as they are fortunate to have,” Megan Surette said. “We thought this was a great opportunity for them to be able to come and donate toys.”

The students were so excited to drop off the toys that they filled the entire box and helped make sure children in need in our community have a gift of kindness to unwrap this Christmas.

You can also help those families that aren’t quite as fortunate, by joining the Marine Corps, Toys for Tots and WWAY. Drop off new and unused toys here at our studios through Friday and give kids the Christmas they deserve.
