NEW YORK (AP) — President Barack Obama has been named Time’s “Person of the Year” for 2012.

The short list for the honor included Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who was shot in the head for advocating for girls’ education.

It also included Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Italian physicist Fabiola Giannati.

Obama also received the honor in 2008, when he was President-elect.

Last year, “The Protester” got the honor.

Time’s “Person of the Year” is the person or thing that has most influenced the culture and the news during the past year for good or for ill. In 2010, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg received the honor.

Other previous winners have included Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, Bono and President George W. Bush.

Funniest post I’ve seen this year. It’s tragic what has happened to this Country. Buy your ammo now. The price has already gone up since the last election.

What a sorry A$$ country if he is the best we can find. No one on this forum will ever be able to repay their share of the country’s debt. His supporters are idiots!

Agree 100%, Time magazine was scraping the bottom of the barrel, when is the world going to wake up? I could understand if the award was based on the most taxpayer money spent/wasted or the most golf trips for a president or the most abuse of taxpayers dollars by the first lady, but really, what could possibly be Time’s criteria?

  • tweety11

If the country is as sorry as you believe why are you still living here??????

Here is a President who has been elected twice winning at least 51% of the popular vote, He is one of six presidents in history to accomplish that. The last was Eisenhower.
He has brought about the first step in achieving a national government healthcare system.
He has brought back an economy that was facing the worst crisis since 1930.
He has actually slowed down the rate of federal spending since he took office.
His energy policy is on tract to make this country the worlds largest petroleum producer by 2015

All the above has been accomplished while being attacked and sandbagged by the opposition party.

    Barack Obama is my president!

That just sounds like regurgitated MSNBC propaganda. If you really believe all of that hype I truly feel for you and this county. You have been brainwashed into thinking a figure head can be your superherojesus. Obama, the idiot’s hero.

  • tweety11

Bottom of the barrel, really!!!! I can understand your thinking and i know that it hurts to see President Obama in office for a second term. Some of it is politics and some of it is race related.Whatever side it is with you get over it and go on with your life.Bottom of the barrel….

  • RSimmons

I can’t say that I’m a fan of MSNBC, but since you are and know what they say, I’ll just have to take your word that MSNBC is reporting the same facts as I am.

As far as idiots go I hear most like tea parties…I’m a coffee drinker myself.

  • Guest44

I don’t drink tea, coffee or koolaid. You’ve put your faith in a politician. Enough said.
