PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A convicted felon is in jail after police say he set fire to a historical home on Richard Switch Road. Jamie Early Barton is facing a slew of charges and is being held without bond.

Also in Pender county, the Army Corps of Engineers says dredging on the New Topsail inlet will begin in February. Topsail Beach Town Manager Tim Holloman told the town board at its Dec. 12 meeting the move would put the dredging operation closer.
