KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Santa was in an unlikely visitor in the tank at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. The man in the red suit traveled all the way down from the north pole to take a dive at the aquarium. Though the kids could not squeeze in any last minute request through the thick glass, they were happy to almost touch hands with Mr. Claus himself.

“It has been great because it is my nephew’s first year understanding Christmas and who Santa is,” said Heather Reiss, a visitor at the aquarium. “It was his first trip to an aquarium so it is really an excited trip for him. He got to wave to Santa and say hello, so that was great.”

Santa floats by the aquarium every Christmas. He says it’s on stop that’s on the top of his list.
