WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — To honor the first night of Kwanzaa, Life Changing Ministries and the Burnett-Eaton Museum are celebrating the holidays’ seven principles: umoja (unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), ujima (collective work and responsibility), ujamma (cooperative economics), nia (purpose), kuumba (creativity), imani (faith).

The celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. at 216 Marstellar Street in Wilmington.

Families and communities will come together to evaluate their achievement, contribution and plan goals for the year ahead.
