WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are looking for a man who broke into a home early this morning and robbed a man who was sleeping. It happened before 6 a.m. at 2239 Wrightsville Ave.

Police say the victim said he was asleep when he was awakened by a man pointing a handgun at him. The victim said the man was black, about 6′ tall, medium build, wearing dark clothing with a hoodie and a handkerchief over his face. The intruder demanded money, and the victim handed over some cash.

The victim’s roommate was asleep in another room, and the robber tried to get in, but the door was locked. The suspect then left the apartment through the rear sliding glass door.

Anyone with information should contact Wilmington Police.
