WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — County unemployment numbers for November are out.
Pender County has shown the biggest improvement over the last year. The unemployment rate has dropped 2.4 points percent drop over the course of a year to 10.0 percent. That tied with two other counties for the second biggest drop in the entire state since November 2011.
New Hanover continues to have the lowest rate in our viewing area, at 8.6 percent.
Bladen County’s rate dropped by 0.4 points, but it is now the highest rate in our area at 11.8. That is slightly ahead of Columbus County’s 11.6 percent.
Brunswick County saw the biggest increase from October to November, with the rate going from 9.5 to 10.3 percent.
