WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A cab driver was robbed at gunpoint in Wilmington early Monday morning. It happened just after 5 a.m.

Investigators say the driver was parked in the parking lot of Jason’s Deli at 5301 Market Street, when a man walked up. The driver rolled his window down, and the suspect pulled out a hand gun and demanded money. The driver gave him money and said that the man left in a red car driven by another person he did not see.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, between 40 and 50 years of age, heavy set with a grey beard, wearing a brown “Carhart” style jacket.
