WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A student from Cape Fear Community College will take part in the inaugural parade in Washington D.C. next week. After his swearing in Monday, President Obama will lead the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue.

Joining the pomp and circumstance will be CFCC student and Petty Officer 3rd Class Ben Fisher. He will march alongside his Coast Guard unit out of Fort Eustis, Virginia.

“I’m just looking forward to it. I think once we start walking down the street past the buildings of Washington D.C. and past the monuments, I think it will be a pretty neat feeling that I’ll always rememember,” Fisher said.

He says the parade is an experience he plans to one day share with his children and grandchildren.
