Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department’s Athletic League (PAL) kicked off a new basketball season January 7, 2013. It is a unique way to combat gang activity in local communities. In an effort to reach kids on both sides of town the PAL Hoops program is once again operating out of both the Community Boys & Girls Club and the Brigade Boys & Girls Club.

Officer Brandon Reece told GMC anchor Ashley Jacobs the Community Boys and Girls Club at 901 Nixon Street still has available spots for players between ages 10 and 12.

This is a free program for participants and as you’ll learn from Ofc. Reece when you watch his full interview, the benefits are countless.
