COLUMBUS CO., NC (WWAY) — As many as ten mobile homes were damaged in western Columbus County near Chadbourn as severe storms rolled through around 7pm Thursday.

High winds blew the roof of one mobile home clear off, sending it 50ft away. Other homes in the Joe Brown Rd area were damaged significantly as well.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported at this time.

The National Weather Service will be sending a storm survey team to western Columbus County to check out this damage from the storms to verify that it was caused by high winds – or whether it could have been tornadic.
