WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – The Martin Luther King Jr. Parade is moving from Castle Street to Front Street this year to hopefully attract a bigger crowd.

It will begin at Second and Hanover Streets and head down Front Street to Princess Street, then turn onto Water Street and head back towards Brunswick and Front.

caught you. Your own words “…MY Father and Mother raised us to respect individuals not what they had or didn’t have…”

    So upright? So above reproach?

And you are so low you go on the 2 reports regarding the Pender County pedophiles and attempt to make jest at my expense.

You are worthless. There are at least 3 young individuals who are dealing with the stigma and mental distress brought on them by 2 low life scum suckers.

And you make jest. You are as low if not lower than the 2 pedophiles.

What happened to all the teaching from your Mother and Father?

Take shots at me; that’s fine. I guess it gives you something to do between entitlement check delivery.

But to demean the poor victims with your failed attempst at humor.

Someone ought to take you out and whip on you for a while. You need agood butt whipping for sinking so low.

If only more parents of all races had your attitude.

  • B M says:

Uhhhhhhh, basically, in a nutshell, yeah, I think that is what I was trying to say, I want to see everybody succeed, and I think there can be a period in time due to circumstances any of us could see the need for a helping hand, but I also see where without a little push you’ll never wean a person from the handouts either. And until you accomplish something on your own there will never be any responsibility.

It didn’t take you long to post a stupid comment. You never disappoint.

  • Paul W. says:

Perhaps a better way to honor Dr. King’s legacy would be to initiate activities in every black church and community center to call attention to and combat the rising tide of young black male violence.

In this past year, we have seen terrible instances of young black males murdering a Chinese delivery man (and sitting down and eating the food he has just delivered) and a Cape Fear College student (one female was a part of this attack) senselessly murdered in a downtown parking lot.

Dr. King would be appalled at the level of violence of young black males in downtown Wilmington. It’s a serious problem that needs to be addressed immediately by the black community. Only we (I am a black father of two sons) can help stem the tide.

Hey Tweety, don’t get too upset with Ole Surf…. sometimes he wraps the codpiece under his pontifical garments a little too tight!

  • sailboat2323 says:

    So you can’t use it?

  • tweety11 says:

of all Toms.I was going to leave your post alone because you are always right about everything but i couldn’t.What the hell is a race card i know you and others use it a lot.Like you said when you can’t think of anything else to say.It made sense because if you didn’t understand you would have left it alone.Lets see if this make sense to you.You would like people to think that you are this upright citizen, you are all about right but if you look at your post they are very nasty when the people or person doesn’t look like Tom.The comment about your neighborhood was just what it said your neighborhood you said bad things don’t happen in your neighborhood but it does in fact bad things happen in all communities. One last thing Tom the entitlement check that you speak of,i do get one its called retirement. Now look it up a see who get the most government entitlements as you say.

  • SurfCityTom says:

and even Bill Cosby had similar words when he spoke a few years ago.

But that’s going to cause too many to look inward and see what they hope to avoid.

Males who spread their seed indiscriminantley with no concern over the fathering of children who will become society’s problems.

Females who become baby factories so they can increase the public dole they will be eligible for.

Parents who don’t hold their children accountable in school.

Parents who look away when a 16 year old has more gold around his neck then the parents have in net worth and more cash in his pocket then they see; and never question why he is out every night until 2 or 3 in the morning.

Maybe too cause the Public Housing Authority to accept more responsibility and accountability for the projects they build and manage.

We’ll never see those types of actions taken. Better to march in some parade and think they are contributing.

I wonder what Doctor King would do? For that matter what are his followers such as Jesse Jackson doing to solve these problems?

  • RSimmons says:

Us white folks have a responsibility in this too. Throwing money at the problem and expecting government alone to solve those problems hasn’t been working. Shutting ourselves in gated communities and walking around armed to the teeth isn’t working either. We have to work with each other and find solutions to the lack of opportunities and the hopelessness that young people of all races are facing and driving some of them to commit horrendous crimes.

  • SurfCityTom says:

I don’t see you making any suggestions of any nature.

It’s pretty evident DSS is not doing a proper job.

Were it, how do you explain the woman who appeared on this station after 2 of her 14 or 15 children were killed? You remember, one of them was identified as a 5 Star General in the drug trade.

Why is it the projects have such a high incidence of crime? And why does the Housing Authority not take steps to stem the crime?

In my neighborhood, we don’t have these types of problems. But then in my neighborhood, children are raised with a sense of responsibility and accountability.

Appears that was not the case in yours, Tweety.

But, where was I all knowing? I asked questions; did not offer personal opinions.

  • SurfCityTom says:

    you clearly need help.

Did you forget to take a prescribed medication? Or did you take one not prescribed which causes halucinations and feelings of granduer?

Read your own post. It makes no sense at all.

Why are you trying to make a racial issue from my post? I see no reference to race, creed, or skin tint in my post.

But when all else fails, throw out the race card.

Your post does not even rate a nice try Tweety.

  • tweety11 says:

If you only had a clue

  • B M says:

white folks do carry some blame in the black’s demise, the day that affirmitive action came into play you basically said now you go to the front of the line, you no longer have to work and earn anything, you have the right, the day we started pouring money into their system we destroyed their ability to earn and feel pride, we gave them houses, now they tear the walls out of them and complain, do you think they would destroy their own property? It is our fault, in trying to hand them the world instead of stowing work ethics and morals into some we are crumbling, time to right the wrongs, cut off the money.

  • tweety11 says:

There you go again. You have know idea of my neighborhood.MY Father and Mother raised us to respect individuals not what they had or didn’t have.Didn’t matter the color of there skin. You say it doesn’t happen in your neighborhood,it all depends on what you consider your neighborhood. For as what i do and my circle of friends do for the community you might not know because you will always be on the outside looking in.See tom thats her story.Thats not my story what about the young man they decided he wanted to kill his mother and shoot-up a school was that the projects or section eight. Not your neighborhood.

  • tweety11 says:

The one that said white’s only.

  • tweety11 says:

Tom you have the answer for all the problems in the world.Have you looked in your own neighborhood and all the problems. If you would like to know what Mr Jackson is doing ask him.I see you don’t know how DSS work Well maybe you do all wise and knowing TOM!!!!!

  • sailboat2323 says:

DOES THE WATER BUBBLE IN THAT FOUNTAIN?

  • tweety11 says:

You must drink from the same fountain as the other jackass.

  • SurfCityTom says:

that the flow of Section 8 dollars, Food Stamps, Medicaid dollars, Free Cell Phones, and all of the other give away programs should end?

Are you suggesting there be a “term limit” for folks living on the public dole who are physically and mentally able to work?

Are you suggesting benefits for “Baby Machines” should end after the second child is born?

There are still plenty of opportunities in this country for the young coming out of school with a true education; one in which they are just not pushed ahead to get them out of the school system.

Are you suggesting parents should be responsible for theit children, even if it means they have to be in the classroom to ensure little “Puff” is not disruptive or endangering others?

Could you be suggesting a curfew for those still in high school or younger unless they have a legitimate job other than marketing pharmacutical products?

If you are, you should run for public office. I think you’ll find a lot of supporters.

  • brendle says:

“head down Front Street to Princess Street, then turn onto Water Street and head back towards Brunswick and Front.” Thats right head back north from Princess St. Keep it out of the South Side…

  • Guest1120 says:

Ignorance is bliss. Is you sound like you live a VERY blissful life. I’ll pray for you.

  • Meela says:

Really???? I guess since YOUR people like to make UP ****!!!

  • Guest2020 says:

I am in complete agreement with you, John. Of all the great, upstanding men who actually did so much for the good of all of us, it boggles the mind why they chose to honor such a dishonorable man. It’s bad enough that he gets his own day, but spending taxpayer money for these celebrations is ridiculous.

  • john says:

It is funny how everyone praises this guy; however, no one ever mentions how Dr. King had an ample reputation as a philanderer and abuser of women of ill repute. The FBI is said to have approximately 15 file cabinets of evidence on King full of recordings and transcripts of his illicit relationships with prostitutes and dealings with the communist party. This info isn’t scheduled to be released officially until 2027; however, you can find all this info with a little research and yet we still have a national holiday for this fraud.

    John.

  • tweety11 says:

You talking about the same FBI that was led by the cross dresser? You really believe everything they had to say.For as his personal life that was between MLK and his wife.Hell you probably cheated on your wife or she cheated on you.You can drop that.

  • pondhopper says:

You can find all this info with a little research”.
You can also find info on little green men, and how to prepare for the end of time as the Mayans predicted.

Dr. King was a trailblazer who helped heal the divide between blacks and whites in this country. His non-violent message has been recognized and heralded worldwide. His good works included advocating for the poor, the inequality of pay for all regardless of color. He spoke of inclusiveness, was a well educated man.
You can look that up on the internet too.

    You are so true!!!!

  • dylhansmom says:

They should have left it alone! The crowd is not going to get bigger just because it is downtown. They are hoping to attract more white people and they won’t say that. I am a white person so i will say that i had no problem sitting on castle street with my son enjoying the parade every year I’m not going this year because of its location parking is a pain, the water is too cold to be on in January and the whole idea of changing tradition like that is ridiculous i hope the turn out is worse and they move it back next year!

  • Guest2020 says:

He also beat up the prostitutes with whom he committed adultery.

  • Brandonw says:

So id we are to remember the man… let’s remember the whole man. He was a gifted speaker that lead our nation toward more equality. He was also a man who cheated on his doctoral degree and committed adultery & laughed about it. this is not a saint, by no means a god. he was a flawed person who made a difference.

  • John says:

    Tweety,
Regardless of the FBI it is well known he was a philanderer and also that he plagiarized his thesis in college. These are facts… and yet you want to defend this man. The bottom line he fooled a lot of FOOLS… just like you.

    John

  • tweety11 says:

Fool, john been called worst,Bottom line john he did great things for this country in regards to civil rights. His legacy will always be a great one.John you also believe that the Japanese came to bomb Pearl Harbor and the government knew nothing about them coming. What do you think about President Kennedy and Clinton.

  • Guestomellonjellie says:

This will be the best, most fun time ever! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • tweety11 says:
