ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) -- A 12 person jury is set to return to court Wednesday in Bladen County to determine the fate of a 19-year-old accused of involuntary manslaughter after her 9-day-old baby was mauled to death by dogs in 2011.
Prosecutors say Chelsea Brigman left the baby alone with a number of dogs. Brigman has been in court since last week. In a note to the judge, the jury said they were split nine to three but did not indicate which direction they were divided.
District Attorney Jon David says a special Grand Jury was called for this case. Now, they must determine if the baby's death was an accident or if Brigman played a role. The judge says deliberation will begin tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

If she's guilty
give her the same fate. No defensive mechanisms. Limited mobility. No place to run; no ability to run.
Nice Tom
Mistrial declared case dropped no further pursuit by prosecutors.
And you were ready to throw her to the dogs.
Perhaps they should charge the men in this case.....
