WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Someone stole a fossil this weekend from the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science,
and a group of kids played detective. Mystery at the Museum engages kids in science and problem solving through a pretend crime scene investigation. Kids investigated clues and even did their own lab work to solve the mystery.

Museum educator Pepper Hill says its a fun way to enjoy science.

“People are very excited about forensic science. The reason we do forensic science at the museum is because it applies the scientific method and logic and reasoning to solving mysteries. That’s why we host this event at the museum.”

Kids enjoyed investigating the crime scene and solving the case. Museum employees say the event is always a fun way to incorporate science and history.
