Bladen Co. jail beating victim back in hospital

READ MORE:

BLADEN CO., NC (WWAY) -- The man severely beaten in the Bladen county jail last week is back in the hospital.

Joshua Ward's wife, Amanda, tells us he was showing signs of improvement, but after being released from the hospital Friday, he suffered a chronic headache.

Doctors say he has a blood clot between his brain and skull. They hope medication will take care of the clot to avoid surgery.

Ward suffered a gash to his face, several broken ribs and two black eyes after being beaten up by three fellow inmates last Tuesday.

Mr. Ward's Injuries

Why was Mr. Ward placed in a cell with VIOLENT offenders? Were there no empty cells? Or were there no cells where non-violent inmates were housed.

The "three fellow inmates" should be euthanized for beating a man almost to death for no reason at all, except to give them a thrill.

Obviously, these animals enjoy inflicting violence on others. And, believe me, there will be more violent acts to come from these three sickos.

Let's hope that it s a very long day before they are released back into the general public again.

Bladen County jailers need to be held responsible for Mr. Ward's injuries.

From what I have read about Bladen County, I infer that it is a half-civilized backwater governed by corrupt county officials. Lazy and corrupt.

Brutal Beating

This is absolutely unacceptable. This Sheriff should be fired. If he cannot maintain control of his jail and the security of his charges, he should not be there. No one should be treated like this, no one. I am to assume he thinks because they are inmates no one will care, well he is wrong. Everyone deserves to be treated as human beings without fear of their life while incarcerated. This needs to be fixed.
