PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A woman is still in the hospital after an accident that shut down I-40 yesterday.

Highway Patrol says Allison Knight, 33, hit a trailer behind a pick-up truck yesterday afternoon while driving east on I-40 near mile marker 403 in Pender County. The impact flipped her car into the median.

Knight is listed in fair condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The trooper handling the investigation says the driver of the truck, Ron McKee, 25, was treated and released from Pender Memorial Hospital yesterday.

The accident is still under investigation.
