WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington drug trafficker has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and five years of supervised release when he gets out. Last February David Crummy pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute and distributing more than 280 grams of crack cocaine.

On June 30, 2011, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Detectives executed a search warrant that resulted in officers finding 249 grams of crack cocaine. Crummy and several conspirators had been converting cocaine to crack cocaine at the time of the search.

During the investigation, investigators found that Crummy was responsible for the importation, conversion and distribution of more than four kilograms of crack from January 2010 until the time of his arrest.

WHile I tend to agree with you that at times our justice system is questionable – especially in this case, remember it’s the legislative branch that passes the laws that apply to prison terms – like standardized sentencing and maximum sentences etc. Lawyers are trained to drive trucks through the holes in the system and judges then split hairs at trials.
If you want mandatory prison terms with no parole that’s fine just let me know when it will start because I will move before that tax increases hit to pay for all those beautiful prisons they will need.
The Judiciary is jut one part of this blame game, but go ahead and try to do standardize sentences – the lawyers in our Legislature like Thom Goolsby will rail against it because it reduces their “billable hours” and hence their incomes……

Guestenheimer, well said, my friend. Well said! The judicial system is a joke! Just absolutely pathetic. They are not afraid of the law because all they ever get is a slap on the wrist!

Before this arrest, he already had 14 FELONY convictions! 14!!! WTF???
8 FELONY convictions for trafficking cocaine of over 400 grams (each time).
3 FELONY convictions of Assault with a DEADLY WEAPON with intent to KILL.
2 FELONY convictions of smuggling WEAPONS, drugs into prison.
1 FELONY conviction of discharging a FIREARM in an occupied facility.

His first FELONY conviction dates back to 1982. Ol’ Crummy dude here has enjoyed in excess of 31 years as a violent, felonious criminal to wreak criminal havoc on society!!! Nice, huh? Do you feel safer now?

When the justice system begins keeping dangerous criminals (just like this one!) that have a demonstrated ZERO regard for the law and society OUT of the general population of society, then and only then will they begin to reduce gun violence! This is the perfect example of exactly what’s wrong with gun control and the biggest reason for gun violence. This is only ONE of thousands of examples that exist in this county alone, much less on the STATE or NATIONWIDE level!
And they think imposing new laws and restriction on the “law-abiding” citizen is an answer for reducing gun violence? The REAL answer is right here, always has been! The lawmakers will take no responsibility and play a “smoke and mirrors” act to make it look like they’re doing something. Totally ineffective.

Was he charged with gun crimes this time? I didn’t read that……I would assume he was

He’ll be back in less then 2 years. All the gun laws in the world don’t mean a thing to this guy, and the many thousands just like him. The gun control liberals couldn’t care less about monsters, like this, preying on the rest of society.

slithering, smelly, reptilian criminal that has spent the majority of his lifetime selling drugs to our children at the expense of a judicial system that doesn’t give a damn about the honest, law abiding population that votes them into office!

With slugs like this continually allowed to slither on our streets, why is it that we can’t figure out this “gun violence” problem and what to do about it?

In the words of my dear old friend Fred Sanford, “YOU BIG DUMMY”.

25 years ago, we were told he was gonna do 150 years (mandatory) in Federal Prison. For the last 18 years he has been dealing drugs, and living off the welfare system. He the greatest example of why ALL law-abiding citizens better have a gun in their home.
