BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A logging truck rolled onto its side littering a Brunswick County road with logs around 8:15 a.m.

The single-vehicle accident happened along Cherry Tree Road in Winnabow north of US 17.

Investigators believe the driver of the truck has non-life threatening injuries to his head and legs.

A state trooper responding to the accident lost control of his cruiser on Ocean Isle Beach Road and crashed into a ditch. He was not hurt and returned to duty.

If a citizen had crashed into a ditch and the highway patrol investigated, chances are the driver would be issued a citation, too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane control. Did the trooper get a citation?

AGREED, what possibly could a truck being overturned warrant driving to the scene so wrecklessly as to put an innocent family at risk of being killed also??? Surely it’s not worth a few extra minutes arriving vs. killing innocent victims on the way.

Get the true report of the incident. Don’t base your replies on the news media’s report. You are only making a fool of yourself.

Had the trooper not been under emergency conditions, I would agree with you. But, considering the fact that he was on his way to investigate an accident, not knowing what he would find, I think he should not be put down too badly. Things happen sometimes.
