WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A creepy crawly problem has been resolved at several New Hanover County fire stations.

We reported last month fire stations were had been battling bed bugs for more than a year. Firefighters even had to move where they slept.

Today, a county spokesman said special bug sniffing dogs and an aggressive approach to killing the bugs resolved the issue.

Firefighters have returned to their normal sleeping quarters.
