The New Hanover County Alcohol Beverage Control Board is requesting a significant salary increase for its board members, proposing a doubling of the chairman’s monthly compensation to $300 and a $100 increase – to $250 a month – for the board’s four other members.

The request to the Board of Commissioners comes just two months after one of their own joined the commissioners.

People are falling all over themselves to be members. An increase is not necessary.

I tried to get a position in the ABC but there seems to be an unwritten policy to only hire ones brother, son, or personal friend! North Carolina needs to GET OUT of the ALCOHOL BUSINESS Governor McCrory!!!

Any chance Barfield will not vote for the increase. Doubt it!!! Have to take care of his buddie. Is the insurance business not affording Cedric enough money.

I thought we as a country was in debt how can we afford to give raises to an already well paid politician. I know, the board votes and the board is friends of these politicians(brotherhood). Thats how it works, see if there is a law that the board can change to help fatten a friends pockets then after a little negociation the board members will vote to change it and everyone is happy except the individuals that the law affects of course. Of course everyone knows that Wilmington government and surrounding areas is one of the biggest Mafias around and if you don’t know nows the time to learn so. We are surrounded by the most crooked local government around. Board members, law enforcement, prosecutors, and sadly enough even some of the local medical establishments are part of a big criminal racket. FIRST TIMOTHY 6:9-14
