Randy to the Rescue: Burlap Table Runner

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- As Randy Aldridge has displayed in the past, burlap can be a versatile fabric.

This week he is turning an inexpensive piece of burlap into a stunning table runner. If your dining table is starving for a new look, check out Randy to the Rescue.

Not being too handy around the house, I normally stay away from projects like these. This one looked so easy though, I thought I'd give it a try.

Unfortunately, I made it a little longer than it was supposed to be. The darn thing got caught on my leg while walking past it and I tripped and fell, banging my head against the adjacent wall in the process.

WWAY was spot on in their description of this project! With hardly any effort on my part, I was able to turn a piece of burlap into a "stunning table runner".

Must have missed that episode. Was it used as an under garment or outer garment?

The scratchy feeling goes away after only a thousand washings and the related development of chafing callouses. The Russians have been using this for decades. See how happy they are?

There's no end to Randy's creative domestic arts. I wonder what he could do with a velvet painting of Elvis. I'm having a problem selecting a spot in my family room to hang the painting; I want to make it a centerpiece.

Try mounting it on the ceiling directly over your bed.
