WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Power is back up after some Progress Energy customers experienced outages across the area Monday morning.

WWAY spoke with Progress Energy, and they say the outages were caused by a problem with a transmission line, but that power was repaired for most customers as of 7:13 a.m.

Progress Energy crews are investigating to find what happened to the line to cause the outages, but say power in the area was only down for about 5 minutes.

I was curious why I lost power this morning and was glad to see a report here that at least provided some information about the outage.

    Good job Progress Energy….
Why is this news? Need some fluff for the new guy on GMC?

It made one think about how important electricity is when it’s 29 degrees outside…and you won’t mind a 10% increase as much now.
