WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Schools across the country are celebrating "Read Across America", and that rings true right here in Wilmington.

WWAY anchors Cacky Catlett and Tim Buckley were among some visitors who stopped by to read stories to third, fourth, and fifth grade classrooms Tuesday.

"Read Across America" is an initiative from the National Education Association. Forty five million students participate in the event each year. The hope is that it will promote a love for reading at a young age.
