WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Habitat for Humanity raised the walls of its very first home using construction materials all made in America in Wilmington today.

After putting hundreds of hours of hard work into other homes, 23-year-old soldier Ti Murphy will soon be a homeowner. Volunteers are working to build the home that Murphy and her son can call their own.

"I'm just excited to see it coming together, because it took so long, having to work so many hours on other people's houses to come to this point of finally getting my walls up," Murphy said.

Murphy says she's most excited about getting into a home that's less crowded, and giving her son a stable environment to grow up in.

The home should be done by June 30.
