WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Conservative talk radio host Chad Adams is leaving his morning show at The Big Talker FM. Adams has hosted "Mornings with Chad Adams" since 2010.

"It's a good time for me to professionally move on," Adams told "I have truly enjoyed being a part of the southeastern North Carolina community. It has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity. I am proud of the guests we’ve had on and the tone of the show."

In addition to his radio work, Adams has been a familiar face to WWAY viewers. Adams, a former Lee County Commissioner, has served as a guest political analyst on Election Night and at other times. In November, he offered viewpoints from the right side of the political spectrum while former US Rep. Bob Etheridge provided analysis from the left.

Adams will host the final edition of his daily broadcast March 29.

Before his work in radio, Adams, a UNCW graduate, worked for Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and the Center for Local Innovation at the John Locke Foundation.

I really enjoy his show, and he is really good. Local talk radio, is sadly becoming a thing of the past. This area used to be so rich in it.

  • NO LIBERALS says:

Spineless liberals,Love to attack if you speak conservative values.

  • Guest, Just Another says:

I hope he’s moving up. Chad has been a staple of my morning radio since he started, and honestly, the only thing worth listening to on that channel since the line up change after his show last year.

    Good luck Chad!

  • taxpayer says:

So much for listening to morning radio after Chad leaves. Beau and his boys have certainly taken a good thing and screwed it royally. First Boortz…then Hannity…and now Chad.

  • Guest view says:

Can someone tell me why is he really leaving???

  • NC American says:

So you want to blame Chad for the actions of R.C. Soles ? R.C. did more to shame Columbus County as “one man” than Chad could ever do. Chad covered the murder rate and gang problem in Wilmington extensively but people only hear what they want to hear and truth doesn’t seem to be one of them.

  • Ghewett says:

Did I state anywhere in my post that I blamed Chad for RC Soles actions? I think not. I said he was negative and insulting in his reporting toward Columbus County when he should have dealt with the issue, Soles. You are correct about one thing though, people only hear what they want to hear and truth doesn’t seem to be one of them. Chad had nothing to do with the actions of Soles…amazing that you would read my post and come to that conclusion.

  • B M says:

Yeah, gonna miss Chad, the rest of the talk shows on 106.3 aren’t worth a plug nickel since the change a year ago, maybe 106.3 is angling toward public radio.

  • RSimmons says:

Maybe hate is too strong of a word. I’m just wondering what happened to the conservatives that once had something important to say that didn’t need to preface every comment with an insult.

Chad, maybe you and Curtis can team up on the 5am crop reports and spread your fertilizer there.

  • GHewett says:

I agree and I am a conservative. I stopped listening to Chad Adams about 5 months after he started because he was so negative and insulting. For example, he would rip Columbus County apart because of one man, RC Soles, but totally ignore the corruption, murder rate and gang problem in Wilmington. Can’t say that I’ll miss him.

  • Guest CommonTater says:

detected in your post. Stupid liberals just spin it another way…..

  • NC American says:

Our country is more divided than ever and it comes straight out of Washington, D.C. from both sides because people united are harder to control and pilfer. Liars hate truth. Chad has more couth in his little toe than Cutis has in his entire body. At least Chad is fair while staying true to his conservative beliefs.

    “Fertilizer” helps things grow BTW.

  • Guest3130 says:

    ’nuff said.

  • Guest9743 says:

Ditto!! Good riddance, bon voyage, adios, arrivederci, addio, Auf Wiedersehen, à bientôt, Żegnaj and good bye, hope you never return.

  • Guesty1 says:

Good riddance I say! Now maybe he’ll have to get a real. I can’t stand that radio show and quit listening years ago. All they do there is spread biased “news”, un-American propaganda and insult most anybody that’s not in 100% lock-step with their narrow view of things. If these shows think they’re helping the “Conservative” cause they’re not. All they are doing is alienating potential voters and pandering to an ever shrinking lunitic fringe base??
Typical part of the problem not part of the solution lowbrows. I hope they’ll now get something worth listening to during that slot?

  • Taylor made says:

There’s not a thing worth listening to on the Big Talker if Chad goes. It’s all robo-talk radio. If I was them I’d put the Blue Line Show on and let those guys have some fun every morning. Anyway I hope Chad wasn’t let go, I do hope he will find his way back on the air.

  • Erlkoenig says:

    God bless you, Chad Adams.
