Pender animal shelter passes re-inspection

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) -- Last week the Pender County animal shelter was the point of allegations.

Two weeks ago, inspectors found animals not being properly cared for but those problems seemed to be corrected. The shelter passed a re-inspection Monday.

Pender County Manager, Mickey Duvall told WWAY he wanted to spend 20 thousand dollars for new kennels and upgrades for the facility.

Duvall also said the Sheriff's office asked the SBI to view video of last week’s meeting to determine if the Bureau wants to investigate allegations by volunteers.
